S3 API reference

chili exposes an S3-compatible API. Tools and SDKs built for Amazon S3 work unchanged once the endpoint and access keys are set.

Authentication

Signature Version 4 (AWS Sig v4), the same as Amazon S3. Most SDKs and CLIs sign requests automatically; you only provide an access key and secret. Connections run over HTTPS only.

Error codes

chili returns the standard S3 error codes as XML in the S3 format, such as NoSuchBucket, NoSuchKey, AccessDenied or SignatureDoesNotMatch. Your existing S3 error handling works unchanged.

The final endpoint host and the region-specific details (CH-EAST Zurich, CH-WEST Geneva) will be added once the platform is in production.
